Guatemala (2005)
In the Spring of 2005, Full Proof Gospel Ministries had the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel in the Central American nation of Guatemala on two separate occasions. In January of 2005, Jamie & Bethany Boyd, as part of a mission team, journeyed down to Guatemala City where they hooked up with faithful missionaries who have labored in Guatemala for many years. The majority of the time was spent helping to move a poverty-stricken Christian family (a single mom and her six small children) out of an inner-city slum and into a more suitable home. The ladies did a lot of painting, cleaning, and furnishing work. Moreover, Spanish Gospel tracts were freely distributed in abundance on the streets of Guatemala City and Antigua and in the marketplaces.
This trip was followed up by another venture in April of 2005. Jesse Boyd journeyed alone down to Guatemala for a little over a week where he rendezvoused with Dylan and Cheri Harris, two bold witnesses for the Gospel who pedaled their bicycles from San Diego, California all the way down to Tierra del Fuego at the bottom of South America. Their main purp ose in this extreme adventure was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesse rendezvoused with these in Guatemala for the purpose of delivering needed supplies and a fresh stock of Spanish Gospel tracts and Bibles. While there, Jesse, along with the Harris’, hitchhiked all over Guatemala and preached the Gospel to many places. Countless Spanish Gospel tracts and some Spanish Bibles were freely distributed in big cities and in remote villages. One man was saved in Antigua and an American Christian got his heart right with the Lord. Many heard the Word of God in their native language, and many adventures were undertaken for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ: From camping atop an Ancient Mayan Temple in Tikal to summiting an active volcano that was spewing forth lava; from spelunking and preaching to a guide in a spider-infested cave to tubing a river and preaching to those gathered along the shore; from hitchhiking on corn and spice trucks to preaching on the streets of Antigua, etc., etc. All Praise to the Most High God!
