mashiach yisrael chai

MASHIACH YISRAEL CHAI is a Hebrew phrase that translates: THE MESSIAH OF ISRAEL LIVES. Indeed, He does. AM YISRAEL CHAI translates: THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL LIVE. Indeed, they do. In our many conversations over the years with Hebrew-speaking lost sheep from the House of Israel, we customarily use these Hebrew phrases to communicate biblical truth

a time of war, a time of peace

We recently returned from nearly five weeks on the ground in Israel during a time of war; and yet for us, it was a time of great peace in which God’s grace and provision abounded. Thanks for all your prayers. I have been to Israel five times over the years and have traveled nearly every corner between Dan and Beersheba and from Metula to Eilat. All over, we have declared the true hope of Israel, the Gospel of the Kingdom and the person and work of the Messiah. This last journey, however, proved to be the best

a long london layover

En route to Israel, Eric and I had a long 11-hour layover in London … ON PURPOSE. I want to share about some of the encounters from that cold and rainy day.  Simply put, we took the train from Heathrow into downtown, walked about an 8-mile circuit that started near the site of the Smithfield burnings during the time of Bloody Mary. Many saints were burned at the stake for their allegiance to the Word of God at this spot.

hiatus no more

HIATUS NO MORE … please pray for us.. In less than a week, Eric and I will be leaving for ISRAEL. By God’s grace, we shall be in the Land for a month and hosting at least two teams of volunteers from our local church. Word on the ground is that the present conflict has opened many doors of opportunity for the Word of God

famine relief

Historically, the word colporter was used to reference those who labored to distribute the printed Word of God, those who traveled far and wide to give out the Bible to folks who didn’t have a copy for themselves. In earlier American history, the Baptist Colportage Board (extinct for many years) did a lot of good work on the frontiers and in the army camps of the Civil War . . .

once again

We just returned from a quick road trip out to South Dakota and back for the wedding of two quality young people who have served as Team Yeshua volunteers in times past, both in South Asia and South America. It was a good time, and as we posed with the bride and groom during the reception alongside a hodgepodge of other former Team Yeshua volunteers, two words came to mind against a backdrop of joy: ONCE AGAIN . . .

just a footnote

In Numbers 13, Israel was encamped at Kadesh-barnea at the edge of the Negev and on the cusp of realizing God’s promise of the land made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God commanded Moses to send twelve spies out from Kadesh to explore Canaan and to bring back a report . . .

a wheel within a wheel

After a very long journey and by God’s grace, Eric and I finally made it back to North Carolina. I apologize for the lull in communication since I last penned a report on February 28th, the day after we arrived in Jerusalem. We were very busy, and so much happened for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus the Messiah along this journey that I really don’t know where, how, or IF to begin . . .

Greetings from Jerusalem! Presently, I am watching sheets of rain blow from the Zion Gate over to the Mount of Olives on a nasty night. But praise God, it’s much warmer here than it was yesterday in Nova Scotia . . .

hittin' the road one more time

From a child, I always loved the music of Dallas Holm. I remember hearing it over the stereo in my parent’s pale yellow Ford Fairmont station wagon on many a 3-hour drive to Raleigh to visit my grandparents. If it wasn’t Dallas Holm, it was a cassette of Keith Green, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Scott Wesley Brown, or the Imperials. Those were different days, back when Christian music was actually ministry and not merchandise. Of course, Rise Again, I Saw the Lord, and the narrative album His Last Days are true classics, but a lesser known ballad holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I heard it. As an adult, I have lived it . . .

the Lord's timing

On his second missionary journey (Acts 15:40-18:22), the Apostle Paul purposed to go into Asia (i.e. western Turkey) after revisiting the cities and churches of Galatia. Such was a noble endeavor, but he was "forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia" (Acts 16:6). From there, his team ventured in obedience west into Europe, heeding the Macedonian Call . . .

Since 2013, we have principally gone to the Gentiles in areas where we have invested work, engaging in opportunities for Jewish Missions along the way to the Gentiles. This past Saturday, in response to clear direction from the Lord in the Scriptures, through circumstances, and proceeding from godly counsel received from those who have followed this work for a long time, I laid out one final fleece, proposing that we flip the script moving forward: Instead of going to the Gentiles and engaging in Jewish missions along the way to the Gentiles, it’s time to go to the Jewish people and engage in missions to Gentile nations along the way to the Jewish people.

tides of ministry, they go out

Almost a month ago, I started this post speaking of the tides of life, the tides of ministry, and the rest we can have in the promises of God, the certainties of His Word, and the inevitable Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. With regard to the election madness here in America, I said it once, and I'll say it again . . .

tides of ministry, they come in

Greetings, dear brethren, in the Name of the One who is from everlasting to everlasting. As Moses penned by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit long ago: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” (Psalm 90:2) . . .

eretz israel

Greetings, in the name of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God. I tell you my friends, this past month has been one of the most insightful trips I have ever experienced. On February 20th, Jesse and I departed the United States enroute to the JEWISH STATE of Israel. I marvel that Gentiles from the opposite side of the world can board a plane and travel to a nation of Jewish people in the land promised to Abraham about 4000 years ago, Eretz Israel (the Land of Israel). And, when I considers the events that have transpired from Abraham until now, the remains of which are scattered all over Israel, I cannot escape the reality of Elohim's faithfulness to the Jewish people.
