This message was preached in Independence Square in Charlotte, NC at the corner of Trade & Tryon Streets. In that spot on May 20, 1775, the citizens of Mecklenburg County gathered together and declared their independence from the tyranny of Great Britain. This event influenced what took place more than a year later in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. On this city corner, known as the "Cradle of American Liberty," Jesse Boyd preaches about the cradle of spiritual liberty which was also at a specific time and in a specific place in history: Calvary around 3:00pm, when the three hours of darkness were coming to an end and Jesus Christ cried "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
