northernmost to southernmost

In the spring of 2005, Full Proof Gospel Ministries set out upon another cross-country bicycle journey for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. This time, the focus for public proclamation would be the East Coast. Beginning in Quebec, just across the international border from Escourt Station, Maine (the northernmost point of land in the contiguous United States), Jesse Boyd mounted his trusty bicycle and pedaled 3,412 miles to the southernmost point of the contiguous United States in Key West, Florida. As was the case for Coast to Coast 2003-2004, Jesse traveled with his family. His wife, Jamie, drove the S.A.G. vehicle and pulled a camper (their home on the road), and their young daughter, Bethany, was instrumental in creating many witnessing opportunities.

One of our primary goals along this missionary journey was to follow the path of the powerful revival known as the Great Awakening that spread through colonial America in the 1740’s. These desires were realized as we publicly proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the very places where the Lord poured out his Spirit and brought genuine revival long ago. It was a great privilege to walk and pedal in the footsteps of great street preachers such as George Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards, and the Wesley Brothers. And, today, as then, many heard the Word of God.

For the New England leg of this journey, the Boyd family was joined by Jon & Julie Lane and their three children from Platte, South Dakota. These were a valuable part of the FPGM Team as the downtown streets of numerous big cities in the Northeast were targeted.

Another interesting leg of this long pedaling journey included the entire 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. Numerous people heard the Word of God and saw the unfurled Gospel banner along this scenic yet grueling national road.

When the journey reached its conclusion at the end of US Hwy. 1 in Key West, Florida, Full Proof Gospel Ministries had publicly proclaimed the Gospel throughout parts of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
