ten year's work in ten days
Yes, God has chosen us and ordained us as His ambassadors in this corrupt and dying world. Oh, what a privilege it is to be His messengers! And so He provides for the fruit. God is so faithful that He always provides for His glory. That is what happened during the Far West Outreach back in December. God gave us an awesome opportunity to proclaim His Gospel to tens of thousands of lost people, mostly of whom has never heard the Gospel. Yes, God provided for 55,000 Project Jagerna Gospels of John and 68,020 Gospel tracts as well as for our traveling cost and sundries for a team which included 231 local evangelists from 12 different churches. Praise the Lord! Thus, He allowed us to do TEN YEARS' WORK IN TEN DAYS. At the festival, we encountered people from remote areas that we never would have met otherwise. It was as if the Lord brought them from far corners to hear the Gospel . . . First, we would like to thank you very much for your prayers, as a result of which you are reading this list of answers. Thank you!
On the 9th day of the festival, the place was so overcrowded that people were returning back due to the lack of tickets. The ticket selling groups could not sell tickets. Finally, the police squad came and handled the situation. They reopened the ticket booth after 2 hours. I estimate that there were more than 50,000 people there on that day alone. Our team witnessed well even though the same man who beat up pastor Bir came back and poured one liter of gasoline on a box of tracts and tried to set it on fire. But, the police arrested him and escorted him away. The festival administration sided with this man, but God was on our side. Therefore, we did not stop giving out the Gospel. There was some misbehavior against our sisters in the crowd, but God kept us silent and let us keep doing His business. The same Hindu extremist came back and also tried to attack brother Laxmi, but God protected him. The enemy was indeed overcome 2,000 years ago. Praise the Lord!
The main irony is that World Vision was the co-sponsor of the festival where a pastor was beaten up, we were persecuted in one way or the other, and the festival organizer asked us many times to go outside the compound. Also, World Vision had their own booth, double the size of ours (maybe they paid more than 20,000 rupees for that), but it was empty for the whole time. Also, they paid for comedy artists of the country to come there by plane and stay in hotels. For what? Just to make people laugh at some nonsense and still go to hell? What a waste of God's money! The only positive thing is that some of the Nepali World Vision representatives voiced appreciation about our being there. My heart cried out for this waste of God's money. Sadly, this type of thing happens all the time here in Nepal.
When we started to open-air preach while mass distributing God's Word, the enemy was not happy, and the Hindu extremists therefore put up huge banners with anti-Christian sayings of former Chinese President Hu Zin Tao, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, and a Nepali martyr, Lakhan Thapa. They were warning the people not to hear God's message and not to allow Christians to take over the country. But, the victory came from God, and we kept preaching.
All in all, I drove 1500 km alone to and fro in four days. We stopped at Kapilbastu for a break in the night, and the church there received us as the Word says in 3 John 1:5-8: "Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth." They were truly fellowhelpers of the truth. Even though I was tired from a whole day of driving, I got the opportunity to teach them during a wonderful late-night fellowship. It was cold that night. In the end, God safely brought us back to Kathmandu in answer to your prayers.
Again, we would like to thank those who generously supported this massive outreach. May God bless you a hundredfold more. Also, thank you once again to all who prayed fervently for us and generously gave for the mission. Truly, we saw ten years of work accomplished in ten days. Below, are a few more photos . . .
