The attestation of genuine faith in the “they that believe to the saving of the soul” vs. “them who draw back unto perdition” in Hebrews 10:39 has a testamentary epitaph bequeathed to us, the Church (11:4-40). And that testament goes way back, even before the Flood. It is seen in the SAVING FAITH of both Abel’s WORSHIP (11:4) and Enoch’s WALK (11:5-6). Saving faith worship the LORD on the LORD’s terms (vs. Cain’s manmade religion on his own terms). Saving faith also WALKS with the LORD and pleases Him. The saving faith of Abel and Enoch are not just a couple of ancient examples to be admired. They are faithful testimonies to be EMULATED and RE-LIVED in these dark and troublesome times.
