Preaching in Cleveland.jpeg

Greetings in the name of the Most High God.

Yesterday, we went right into downtown Cleveland, found parking that could accommodate the trailer (believe it or not), and spent about 2-3 hours on the streets preaching the Gospel.  There were lots of people out, and I was able to preach on several street corners.  An innumerable amount of Gospel tracts went out along with a good handful of Bibles.  All three of us felt very good about what happened down there.  We met a few Christians and were also able to have some deep discussions with those seeking hope.  No professions of faith were made, but without a doubt, seeds were planted in fertile soil.  I particularly remember Melvin who was struggling with alcoholism.  He showed us some 12-step book from AA and how he was trying to apply its principles to help conquer the drinking.  Of course, all such principles are wasteful nonsense without the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We talked about this and how any efforts must be supplemented by a personal relationship with the Lord.  By the end of our conversation, he wanted a copy of every type of literature I had—all types of tracts, a Bible, etc.  Melvin was genuinely interested in the Gospel; please pray for his salvation.  We were also able to witness to numerous homeless folks by giving out free socks that my dad's company had donated. Socks can be like gold to those living on the streets.

After Cleveland, we tooled around Cuyahoga Valley National Park and met three Christian young men from the general area. One of them actually lived outside Pittsburgh, and there is a possibility that we might be able to stay with him and his family. We are still praying that this works out.

Last night, we camped at a secluded state park in Western Pennsylvania.  The weather was great, the moon was a full orangish hue, and the sounds of the crickets were soothing.  Right now, I am writing you all from a library in a small Pennsylvania town.  Later, we plan to head into Pittsburgh where, Lord willing, the preaching of the Gospel will be made public once again.  Please pray that the Word goes out abundantly again today.

Tomorrow, we will head back to West Virginia where I hope to pick the bike route back up on Thursday morning.  Hopefully, the weather will then be beautiful and dry.

Much love, Christian brotherhood, and prayerful consideration for you all.
