all about testimony
At this point, it’s all about TESTIMONY, as the Thessalonians were ensamples to all the believed in both Macedonia and Achaea (I Thessalonians 1:7).
The Manali Airbnb Owner’s Review of Team Yeshua’s Stay
To God be the glory for this Team Yeshua testimony from the owner of the Airbnb in Manali. I want to say a word about these folks, particularly Pulkit who was in touch with me from Delhi from the morning things started deteriorating in Manali. We couldn’t leave the day of our check-out, and he very graciously extended our stay for another night at a 40% discount. By the next day, when it became obvious that we were stuck for a while, he informed that they wouldn’t charge us anything more for lodging if we simply covered any of the food we had the local caretakers cook for us. Many Americans, sadly, and some professing Christians, would have used such a situation to price-gouge the tourist, but not these guys. We stayed in that cottage for four nights without cost. And these two caretakers, Surendar and the one we called “The Bread Omelette Man” (blue shirt below) cooked for us, got information for us, checked on us, made sure we had water when they could pump it, etc. We were shown great kindness by those who very easily could have taken advantage of the situation and over-charged the Americans who had nowhere else to go. Pulkit, Sandeep, Surendar, and the Bread Omelette Man were true people of peace (see Luke 10:6) put into our path by the Lord. May He remember their kindness and grant unto them repentance unto life. Every morning, with rain pouring outside, the Bread Omelette Man showed up with bread omelettes and hot chai. He even made us a great egg curry one day for lunch. And it was all very very cheap.
Bidding Farewell to Surendar and the Bread Omelette Man in Manali
We were genuinely sad to leave Surendar and the Bread Omelette Man standing in the rain as we evacuated Saturday night in those 4WD jeeps, but not before we gave each of them a Bible. We will never forget the Sundazed Cottage on Hadimba Temple road in Manali. It was a true refuge amidst the monsoon fury of HImachal Pradesh. And to God alone be the glory, for this testimony of American Christians who made an impression on a few folks in Manali.
