the fall of commercial babylon (revelation 18:4-20)
This message was preached by Jesse Boyd at New Testament Christian Fellowship on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Following a declaration of doom against the world system (18:1-3), Mr. Boyd goes on to discuss the notice of collateral damage found in verses 4-8, the courtroom reaction of verses 9-19, and the invitation to celebration found in verse 20. The rise of the last days commercial Babylon as prophesied in Zechariah 5:5-11 is cross-referenced along with II Peter 2:6-8. As Lot was vexed by the filthy conversation of the wicked in Sodom, so too should be believers be vexed by the evils of the present world system. Moreover, we must ask ourselves: “Seeing that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness" (II Peter 3:11)?
