south asia 2006-2007

In South Asia, from the Fall of 2006 to the Summer of 2007, FPGM aimed to assist, supplement, and partner with national believers and the existing work of long-term church-planters by boldly proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, printing and publishing the Word of God, and saturating hitherto unreached areas with the Word of God (i.e. the first step in any biblically legitimate church-planting effort). We endeavored to go in and do what longer-term laborers would like to see done in their respective target areas but are unable to do themselves apart from a real risk of being kicked out of places where much time and effort toward forming new churches has already been invested. For the sake of the Gospel, we embraced the risks of being kicked out so that others can remain behind and reap the fruit of much sowing. We spent September and October of 2006 in Ladakh (Northwestern India) and then relocated our base to Kathmandu, Nepal for the remainder of the work. While based in Kathmandu, the Lord opened up doors of opportunity to proclaim the Gospel and distribute the Word of God in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sikkim, West Bengal, and all over Nepal. The large metropolises of Delhi, Calcutta, and Dhaka were also targeted. Biblical Truth was proclaimed as high as 20,000 ft. and as low as sea level; in Buddhist monasteries, on the steps of Hindu Temples, and outside Muslim mosques; on busy city streets and in remote Himalayan villages; in places of great openness and in closed countries. This missionary journey saw the beginning of our long-term work in South Asia and the inception of Project Jagerna.
