Greetings, dear brethren, in the matchless name of Yeshua Ha'Messiach (i.e. Hebrew for Jesus the Christ)! Not a demi-god, not an enlightened man, not a consciousness, not a concept . . . but "the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen" (Revelation 1:5-6).
Read MoreYes, God has chosen us and ordained us as His ambassadors in this corrupt and dying world. Oh, what a privilege it is to be His messengers! And so He provides for the fruit. God is so faithful that He always provides for His glory. That is what happened during the Far West Outreach back in December.
Read MoreBut alas, there is no place for the "summer soldier" or the "sunshine patriot" in the Remnant Body of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no place for shrinking back from service to our Heavenly King or for restraint in preaching the glorious Gospel in a time when this nation and the churches of this nation have committed a double capital crime: "they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water" (Jeremiah 2:13). No, "all these things must come to pass" (Matthew 24:6), and there is yet the Blessed Hope of the Believer: "the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13)!
Read MoreDear praying saints, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let's praise God once again for answering our prayers and giving us other opportunities to proclaim the Crucified Christ here in Nepal. God is always good as He blotted our sins for His own sake. We really have an Amazing God!
Read MoreWe give all praise, glory, and honor to the Almighty alone for what He did last Friday at Ratnapark. We would like to thank you for your continuous prayers. Four of us joined in that effort to warn the lost souls and lost sons. After I preached almost for two hours on Law, sin, repentance, cross, hell, heaven and Grace, we met a lost son ready to come back to his Father.
Read MoreWith the onset of Fall, as is our custom, we will again be targeting university campuses, this time in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and Montana. In a few short days, Ricky Springer and I will be driving across the country to hook up with brethren who earlier this year partnered with us on the front lines in Nepal. As we labored alongside one another on the streets of Kathmandu and in Third World villages, God is allowing us to come together again to assail one of the most spiritually darkened settings in all of the world--the American college campus.
Read MoreBimu, Smeeta, Recon and I preached and give out 350 John's and 300 tracts last Tuesday. I preached for 2 hours and 15 minutes. There were a few contacts, and we are going to follow up with them. We have asked them to join the Bible study which God helped us to start last Sunday.
Read MoreOh, what a day of outreach at Ratnapark! Praise the Lord! We preached there for three and half hours and one person from Birgunj, a southern city, accepted Christ right there. While I was preaching, he came to receive a copy of John and I saw him sitting under a tree and reading it. Then, a couple from another church happened to come there and they led him to Christ right there, and later, we gave him a New Testament.
Read MoreAs a missionary, I have always been uncomfortable “raising support” or “going on deputation.” But, the Scriptures are clear: “Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel” (I Corinthians 9:14). Therefore, I am compelled to express a bit of sadness toward the perspective of brethren who think that a missionary is only a “missionary” and in need of financial support while on the FOREIGN field.
Read MoreHALLELUJAH! Today, I received a personal telephone call from Onslow County District Attorney Ernie Lee. He has filed a dismissal of charges with the Onslow County Court. I do not have to appear on August 30th, and the $500 that I posted for bond is being mailed back to me.
Read MoreUnfortunately, though having proclaimed Jesus Christ in Communist, Muslim, and various other countries this past year without rights guaranteeing freedom, or in the face of laws specifically banning the preaching of the Gospel, I wasn’t made to face arrest until returning to the United States.
Read MoreAlas, the time has come for us to leave Nepal, at least in terms of the foreseeable future. Since my last post, our planned journey to the remote Far West never came to fruition. The entire region was shut down, and the airport in Dhangadi was padlocked due to political upheaval for 20 days! Our backup plan to target the nearby Helambu area also fell through as another bandh (i.e. strike) crippled transportation in Kathmandu Valley. It became very apparent that the Lord was keeping us here and closing the door on those opportunities. With sadness, I write these things; but I also find comfort in the Divine Hand of Providence.
Read MoreWith bittersweet emotion, I am forced to consider that our time in Nepal is winding down, at least for this calendar year. On May 29th, our visas expire, and we will be forced to leave the country. By July, Lord willing, we will have returned to our base in the United States, hopeful that from there, we might continue to faithfully follow the call to publicly proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ on American soil, a most fallow ground and one of the world’s largest mission fields.
Read More‘Tis a whirlwind of activity here in Nepal as we enter the homestretch of our time on this particular tourist visa platform. And thankfully: "The LORD hath his way in the whirlwind (Nahum 1:3). May 30th is our projected day of departure, and there is much yet that remains to be done. It seems we have little time to reflect upon the past and/or contemplate future plans; therefore, this post must, of necessity, prove uncharacteristically brief.
Read MoreThis post will be short as its primary occasion is to petition your prayers for this upcoming week. Ricky and I will be traveling from Kathmandu down to Bangladesh, a closed Muslim country and one of the poorest and most chaotic nations on the planet. At roughly the size of South Carolina, Bangladesh boasts a population of nearly half that of the entire United States.
Read MoreWow! My last post, transcribed more than a month ago, highlighted the work up in the Mt. Everest Region AND anticipated the coming of my dear brother, Shawn Holes (a.k.a. Shawn the Baptist), to Nepal for five weeks of intense Gospel labor. Well, those five weeks have come and gone, and Brother Shawn has safely returned to his family in Idaho. And frankly, in terms of recap, I don’t even know where to begin.
Read MoreThe work continues here in Nepal despite a plethora of difficulty and spiritual attack. Rolling blackouts are now at 14-hours per day here in Kathmandu. The temperature in our house hovers between 48-55 degrees Fahrenheit most of the day. Petrol and diesel shortages make for station queues FAR LONGER than Jimmy Carter’s gas lines. Hyperinflation continues to plunder our pockets. And, the desire to continue preaching the “glorious gospel of the blessed God” (I Timothy 1:11) to idolatrous ears (i.e. which are known to listen but never seem to change) wanes. I feel like Jonah sitting under the shadow of the gourd.
Read MoreHere in Nepal, on or around Christmas, the Nepali churches typically take to the streets with Gospel tracts and microphones in honor of our Lord’s birth. Yesterday (i.e. Christmas), we saw several groups out witnessing with boldness. ‘Twas a great encouragement. If only the American churches would follow this example, putting aside all the commercialization, greed, and insanity that descends upon our culture this time of year, and utilizing the opportunity to openly declare the child born in a manger as the ONLY ONE who can redeem us from the curse of the Law (Galatians 4:4-5).
Read MorePARAMESHWAR (i.e. Nepali for “One True God”) IS NOT RELIGION . . . THE BIBLE IS NOT RELIGION . . . YESHU MASHIHA (Nepali for “Jesus the Messiah) IS NOT RELIGION . . . and so we continue to preach and declare openly here in Nepal and throughout South Asia. Thanks for all your prayers, and for those who have and continue to support us financially, the fruit is yours. You have sown; we are reaping; and the day comes when “both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together” (John 4:36).
Read MoreMy family is now living with us here in Kathmandu (Thank God), and we just finished a month of labor with a small team that came in from Ricky’s home church in Owasso, Oklahoma. Now, we are setting out sights upon some very difficult unreached areas, praying with earnest that the Lord would open a door of opportunity to go in to some of these places with copies of the Word of God.
